Feng Shui Malaysia - Winter Solstice

Eating Tang Yuan and Becoming Older

The shortest day of the year – the winter solstice – is called Dōng Zhì (冬至) in Mandarin Chinese and the first character means “Winter” and the second character means “Arrival.”

Dong Zhi is also known as the thanksgiving of the Chinese calendar, it is the last festival of the year. As such, this is the day when families get together and eat tāng yuán(湯圓), a sweet soup made of glutinous rice balls. There is also a usual believe that after eating tāng yuán(湯圓), everyone becomes one year older.

From Dong Zhi(冬至) till Li Chun (立春), there are about 1 and half month to go. During these period, below are some suggestion to improve our luck :

1) As weather turns cold, it is advised to wear more warm colour such as RED, Green etc and try to add more colour to your house décor too. From the 5 elements perspectives, it will also help to enhance your luck.

2) Walk out from your door and say hello to the Sun ! YES, say hello to outdoor activities. Did you realize for how long you did not exercise? Please do it, time is not an excuse!

 3) Watch your meal, take small and frequent meal throughout the day.

 4) Arrange gathering with your friends, go outdoor and go to places that have positive energy so to enhance your confidence level and enhance your luck.

Note: There are many perspectives that will affect and influence our luck, for example, our Chinese and English Name Stoke, our House Feng Shui Arrangement and Décor etc. Should you like to have better understanding on your situation and wish to plan and move forward better in 2014, do contact me at +6011-12143468 for a more accurate prediction.

Last but not least, don’t forget to get together with your families during this Dong Zhi which is fall on 22th Dec! Happy Gathering!
